knickers

Can the Dutch language offer anything to match "don't get your knickers in a twist?" Probably. I'm curious as to what that is

X-technisch

Brei-technisch

More evidence of the practicality of Dutch. The addition of the suffix "technisch" after a word to refer to the mechanics or the process of the thing.

bestuurstechnisch

onderwijstechnisch

voetbaltechnisch

penetratietechnisch

WHAT A TERRIBLE WORD

Een van de moeilijkste woorden om uit te spreken (voor mij tenminste) is

VERSCHRIKKELIJK

VERY NICE STRAWBUHBERRIES

HELE MOOIE AARDE-BEIEN

(HELE MOOIE AARD-UH-BEIEN)

Not!

"Niet!"
does not translate directly into
"Not!"

"Als je op dat stukje gras loopt zullen de leeuwen jou opeten."
"Niet!"

At the gnu enclosure in the Beekse Bergen:
"Don't step over the rope. There are lions waiting at the bottom of the ditch. You can't see them now but they're waiting to pounce on little boys who step over the rope."'
"Not!"

Bedoeling

That is not / that was not the bedoeling.

The word 'bedoeling' should be imported into English, or at least loaned.
